GRAMICCI的創辦人Mike Graham是美國攀岩界中一位傳奇人物。

在那個年代，攀岩手所穿的不外是牛仔褲或是長運動褲，兩者各有優劣。牛仔褲雖然耐磨，但過份緊身而影響動作，而運動褲(Track褲)雖然鬆身舒適，但完全不耐磨，無法抵受岩壁面之磨擦。Mike於是想到將兩者合而為一，他是將厚帆布製成如運動褲之式樣，及在褲頭上加上織帶及扣，使其更為穩固。起初，Mike只是製來給自己及朋友穿著，但很快地，這種既舒適又耐穿之新式攀岩褲便傳遍了約西米提山谷，之後眾多攀岩愛好者都來找Mike，希望能買到一條Mike所設計的攀岩褲。於是Mike便開始了Gramicci公司，一代經典Gramicci就此產生。
